Event Synopsis

This event provides an overview of the challenges faced by private equity firms in China from fund-raising, deal sourcing, due diligence, execution, portfolio monitoring and exit. It also provides useful insights drawn from both successful and failed case studies as well as analysing the outlook of private equity landscape in China as compared to the rest of the world.

- No cash payment will be accepted for on-site registration.
- If any registered participant is unable to attend, a replacement is welcome, but a top-up may apply depending on the membership category of the replacement participant. However, no refund would be made.
- CFA Singapore reserves the right to:
  * cancel, postpone or make any changes to the terms of the event at its sole discretion without giving any prior notice;
  * reject any registrations;
  * collect payment shortfall in accordance to the actual membership status of participants.

Kwek Ping Yong - Chief Executive Officer Inventis Investment Holdings

Yong Kwek Ping is the CEO of Inventis Investment Holdings, the largest private equity growth fund in China with over USD 6.2 billion of capital under management. The Inventis funds target four main themes: the Greater China funds, a Global RMB fund, a Korea-focused fund and a Sino-Russia Fund. Inventis made its first foray into Russia in September 2016 with the signing of a co-investment agreement with the Russia Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) for a US$500m platform targeting companies along the Sino-Russian belt.   Yong is widely accredited as a thought leader in private equity and is frequently invited to conferences and workshops globally. He is a TED speaker and the author of two acclaimed books on China: Private Equity in China: Challenges and Opportunities (Wiley 2012) and Due Diligence in China: Beyond the Checklists (Wiley 2013). Yong teaches private equity and entrepreneurship courses at the Wharton School, Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), London Business School, Imperial College Business School and the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo. He is also the Centre Director of the Greater China Centre for Private Equity (GCCPE) at the University of Macau, China and a Senior Fellow of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA.
